anime trading cards

As the title implies, this is my Anime trading cards page. Here, I will list the cards that I am collecting (that I have incomplete sets of) and what duplicate cards I have to trade. If you would like to trade with me, I can be emailed at majkusanagi&hotmail.com. (replace "&" with "@")

I am also willing to trade cards of one type/set for cards of another. I might even be inclined to sell some, in case you don't have any that I need. All traded cards would be mailed in a hard plastic slip cover, in a padded envelope. Mint condition, guaranteed to have no fingerprints.

Ghost in the Shell

These cards are supposedly published in Japan for the Japanese collectors, but they appear to be more oriented toward North American and UK collectors. (Only an occasional bit of Japanese text, such as if it's part of a picture.) There are 79 cards in all, consisting of 54 chromium (including 9 different card designs), 15 reflector, 9 clear, and 1 special reflector. Card 45 is a checklist card.

I have the following cards available for trade:

 01 02 03 04 05 05* 07 08 09 15 16 19
 20 21 22 26 27 29 30 31 34 35 40 41 45
 s-03 s-05 s-13 s-15

 * = This is one of the '9 different card designs'.
Cards that I want to trade for (ones that I need):
 04* 06* 07* 37 42 c-01 c-02 c-03 c-06
 c-07 c-08 c-09

 * = This is one of the '9 different card designs'.

You're Under Arrest

These cards were published in Japan for collectors there. They cost 300 yen and come in packs of 10. There is a total of 103 cards. They seem to be meant to be put in those 3 x 3 plastic notebook sheets, as they tend to make pictures when put together in that fashion. They are also grouped into sections of nine cards each (one group per page). Also, when put into these pages, cards that seem like they should be together (but aren't, numerically) in fact are next to each other. Whew, enough comments about the 3 x 3 sheet thing, eh? I haven't translated the checklist cards (48, 51, 54), so I will describe what the different groups are from looking at the cards themselves:

  • 1-9: All about the opening sequence of the OAVs
  • 10-18: about the OAV And so they met
  • 19-27: about the OAV Tokyo Typhoon Rally
  • 28-36: about the OAV Love's Highway Stars
  • 37-45: about the OAV On the road, AGAIN.
  • 46-54: about the ending of OAV 4
  • 55-63: Natsumi 1-9
  • 64-72: Miyuki 1-9
  • 73-81: Yoriko 1-9
  • 82-90: Not really sure.
    • They look like the OAV, but I've never seen these in the OAVs, so I'd assume they are from the TV show - only text is "You're Under Arrest". Cards 84, 87, 90 say "Tokyo Police-Woman Duo" and have Miyuki and Natsumi singing.
  • M1-M9: Look like posters, ads, and publicity pics - text: "Nakajima Atsuko Grafitti"
  • BS01-BS04: Best shot cards
    • BS01: Best shot of Natsumi
    • BS02: Best shot of Miyuki
    • BS03: Best shot of Yoriko
    • BS04: Best shot of Natsumi & Miyuki
When put together, the Natsumi, Miyuki & Yoriko cards make bigger pictures of those characters. Also, when put together, the 'ending' cards (46-54) make a picture of Tokyo in the background of the stuff on the back and the 82-90 cards make a picture of Natsumi and Miyuki in bikinis tanning on the hood of a convertible.

I have the following cards available for trade:

 2 4 5 6 12 14 15 16 22 24 25 26
 32 34 35 36 42 44 45 46 52 54 55
 56 62 64 65 66 72 74 76 82 84 85
 86 M6 M7 M8 M9 BS04
Cards that I want to trade for (ones that I need):

CPM Manga: The Art of Satoshi Urushihara

From the box: Talented, popular Japanese anime/manga artist, Satoshi Urushihara lends his sensitive drawing style to Comic Images ALL-LUSTRECHROME(tm) trading card format. This 72-card series features artwork from the hit CPM Manga titles: Chirality, Plastic Little, and Legend of Lemnear. Randomly inserted chase cards include 6 full color, painted cover art OmniChrome(tm) Cards.

Well, to begin with, this is one of my favorite artists. Now, I need some "Art of Masamune Shirow" cards. (I suppose the Ghost in the Shell cards are as close as that is to happening) Anyway, this card set is published in North America by Comic Images and the original work was licensed by CPM Manga, hence the title. (CPM = Central Park Media Corporation, same folks that put out translated videos under the name "US Manga Corps")

This set contains 72 cards. The set is broken up into three parts, each profiling the manga titles mentioned above. Here is how it's organized:

  • 1-22: Plastic Little
  • 23-48: Chirality
  • 49-71: Legend of Lemnear
  • 72: Checklist card

I have the following cards available for trade:

 1-72 (All, except chase cards)

Sailor Moon Trading Stickers

So they're not technically "cards"... But they are card-sized, sold in packs of 6, and are sequentially numbered -- just like cards. There is a total of 100 cards, er, stickers including 90 trading stickers and 10 double stickers. The "double stickers" imply two stickers on one card/backing, but are usually more than two; they also have a holo/foil background. I hope that this section doesn't cause any confusion as I'm aware that there are so many different Sailor Moon cards and stickers out there, even before it became the world-wide sensation that we know it as today. These are made in Japan by JPP Amada. The copyrights are all for 1998, so I'm assuming that's when they were out in Japan originally. The only problem with this set is that there aren't any numbers on the chase cards. (the "double stickers")

Here is a description of the double stickers that I have so far. (these numbers mean nothing except for use in the two lists, below)

  1. Moon (upper left) and Mars (lower left) posing, Ami and Luna laughing (upper right)
  2. (card rotated in "portrait orientation") Moon sitting, taking up most of the card (entire right side and lower left) and Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury posing (upper left)
  3. Prince Darien (upper left), Moon (middle left), Usagi eating (lower left), Mercury winking (entire right). Apologies for mixing the Dic names with the Japanese names.
  4. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  5. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  6. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  7. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  8. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  9. Description to come, when I've seen it.
  10. Description to come, when I've seen it.

I have the following cards available for trade:

 7 31 40 70 76 *2

 * = Double Sticker, see above descriptions.
Cards that I want to trade for (ones that I need):
A whole bunch, will post a list soon.

There's a whole world of cards out there, I will be adding more to this little list of anime cards, shortly. (shortly, however, is a relative word)
